Winners Win!

Not a lot of time today. For those of you who don’t know, Mark Alexander is executive editor and publisher of The Patriot Post, the Web's "Conservative E-Journal of Record." You may contact him here. He has an excellent article on the only man thus far who seems like he can carry the mantle of Reagan, and thus upset the Obama-Clinton gauntlet. He says it far better than I can. As a matter of fact, their e-mail journals are one of the best, if not the best resources on-line. True conservatives, up and down the line.

Why Do We Always Seem To Shoot Our Wounded?

I respect Charles Krauthammer. He is a talented writer and excellent policy analyst. But why do we have to shoot our wounded? If President Bush were to fire Gonzales, Rove and Cheney the Left would not relent. They are like a pit bull, they will not quit until they or the other dog are dead. So enough about this "incompetence so he must be fired" non-sense. It's time for a, "that wasn't the shot we wanted, but we have to win the game, so let's get after it, RIGHT NOW". The reason the President's ratings are so low is not that he's too conservative, it's because he has not been strong enough. And the reason he hasn't been strong enough is he hasn't gotten the support from all conservatives. Now is the time for Congress, the New Media, and the people to understand what is at stake: If we lose this battle, we lose the war. WE CANNOT LOSE THIS ONE!!!! So toughen up and do whatever it takes to save the constitution and our future. If we lose this, the enemy will break through and storm the castle, and all we have worked for will be lost! Just say NO:

  • No to subpoenas
  • No to special prosecutors
  • No to double standards
  • No to hypocrisy
  • No to hidden agendas
  • No to Obama-Hillary in 08

It’s going to take some courage folks. Either we make our stand here, or it is OVER!

Is there hope for the Left? Look at DM!

In a word, yes. Just look at Dennis Miller. Now I know he is not a bastion of Conservative thought, but 9/11 changed him. Ever since then, he has been a stalwart in the war against Islamo-fascism, which in his community makes him a man of courage and wisdom, at least when it comes to understanding our enemies without (Terrorists) and within (the LLL...Lunatic Lying Left). It reminds me of a time forty years ago when I was in the first grade and I lived in an urban school district. Being white, I was an extreme minority in my school. For the most part I was treated very well by my peers. I didn't know what a Presidential Election was, but my first grade teacher decided to take a poll to see whom our parents were supporting. It's amazing the vividness of this memory, but I can remember her asking for all of those whose parents were voting for George Wallace, and about 5 hands went up. Then she asked whose parents were voting for Hubert Humphrey...and everyone one else's hand in the room went up...except mine, because I had never heard my grandparents (who raised me) mention their name. Then she said, kind of mockingly, is there ANYONE voting for Nixon? Finally, a name I recognized, so my hand shoots up. Let's just say that was my first experience with public scorn and ridicule. In addition to the humiliation, I honestly thought how could my grandparents be so stupid, Nixon was OBVIOUSLY going to be trounced. Imagine my surprise, when the next arrived and NIXON WAS THE WINNER! I learned a lot in that one experience:

    • People have "group think", and punish all who want to get outside the box
    • You had better be willing to take the heat if you are a contrarian
    • “Group think” is often wrong

Back to Dennis Miller… I know he is not perfect. I listened to his video cast with O'Reilly yesterday and he said he couldn’t say anything to Cindy Sheehan because she paid the ultimate sacrifice. In addition, yes, I know that is foolish on so many levels that we don't have time to discuss it here, but here is my point:

People can change, even at great personal risk to their income and relationships...and Dennis Miller is the object lesson.

At great financial and relational risk he has been like a rock for us concerning the seriousness of the foe from without, while using humor to poke fun at his "friends" on the left. In addition, humor is something we could use more of as conservatives, it makes the medicine go down easier, better, faster.

So today, hats off to Dennis Miller, hope for the American Left! Here is yesterday's 4-minute video of his conversation with O'Reilly

Why Do So Many on the Left Hate Michael Medved?

Why do so many on the left hate Michael Medved? 3-21-2007

Why do so many on the left hate Michael Medved? Because he calmly, coolly gives them the rope that they need to hang themselves with, time after time. No other talk show host that I am aware of goes to such pains to put the opposition on the air, allow them to speak, and then when they expose the fallacy of their position, he pulls the lever. It's a beautiful thing to listen to.

So they hate him, because they can't beat him. And on top of that, their lies of distortion about conservatives being evil, cold hearted morons don't fit. In essence, they can't lay a glove on him. Now when compassionate conservatives encounter someone like this, we pay honor to whom honor is due. When "Liberals" encounter someone like this, they hate him all the more.

Let's get to the star of my first blog, Michael Medved, and his article you can link to below:
